Job Description: Power Platform Developer
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Power Platform Developer to build a single reporting portal on the Microsoft Power Platform. The portal lets users filter, drill into, save, share, schedule, and export data from one interface. The developer will build the user-facing application and automation layer that makes this work, connecting to Azure Synapse and working alongside the data engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the Power Apps portal, including the unified report window, filter bar, drill-down views, and Excel/CSV export.
- Develop the guided query template builder, a five-step wizard that lets users create and save queries against a governed field catalogue.
- Build the Data Extract Center: create, store, share, bookmark, and schedule extracts.
- Create Power Automate flows for archive jobs, scheduled runs, Teams notifications, and SharePoint file delivery.
- Implement the query run history so every run is logged with its parameters, row count, output, and duration, and can be re-run in one click.
- Make sure row-level security is applied correctly. Access is driven by Azure AD group mapping, and the same rules must be held for live and archived data.
- Support SIT, business UAT, production cutover, and hypercare, including fixes raised by business users.
- Work with the data engineers and the SAP/BA consultant to confirm that portal figures reconcile with the legacy BW reports.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience building production apps in Power Apps (Canvas and/or Model-driven) with a connected data source.
- Solid experience with Power Automate for scheduled and event-driven flows, including error handling and approvals.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Teams integration.
- Experience connecting Power Apps to Azure data services, ideally Azure Synapse SQL pools.
- Understanding of role-based and row-level security, and Azure AD groups.
- Ability to write clean formulas and basic Power Fx, and to use delegation-safe queries on large datasets.
- Good understanding of how reporting users work with filters, exports, and reconciliation.
Good to Have
- Exposure to SAP BW or S/4HANA data structures, or to finance and sales reporting in FMCG or bottling.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, and Delta Lake.
- Power Platform certification (PL-100, PL-400, or PL-600).
- Experience with performance tuning on large datasets (millions of rows).
Qualifications
- 4 or more years of experience in Power Platform development, with at least two end-to-end enterprise deliveries.
- Strong communication skills for working with business stakeholders in finance, sales, and operations.
- Comfortable working in milestone-driven timelines.
